Choose Or Lose
With the most anticipated elections ever in Nigeria’s history fast approaching, preparations are already in top gear. One of such preparation is the ongoing nationwide voter’s registration exercise.
I and many others are of the opinion that this is Nigeria’s time to get it right. In order for us to get things right, we have to do things right and one way we can do so is to go out en-mass and register so that come April, nothing will stop us from being able to exercise our franchise.
For so long, we have cried over bad leadership. This is the times to change our fortunes and I believe with over 60million eligible youth voter’s, we can for the first time in this country democratically elect a leader that will serve us.
Many people take likely to the importance of the ongoing voter’s registration exercise. INEC we know are faced with a lot of challenges (slow machines, theft etc) but amidst of this, they are trying very hard to get everyone eligible to registered.
I heard INEC’s is considering extending the period of the exercise so that everyone gets the opportunity to register.
We need to understand that the voter’s card is the only means by which we can vote during the elections proper. And aside the card been a voting ticket, it will also serve as a form of national identification (a national ID card) for all.
Not everybody has an intentional passport or a driving license so it is wise to go get something that will identify us nationally. One can perform banking and other transactions with the card.
Another good this is that, “the card is free”… getting an international passport will cost you, getting a driving license will also cost you but the voters card is free for all so go get yours now…
It’s our civic responsibility to the country we owe our allegiance to so I entreat everyone eligible to vote to go out to the nearest registration center, Get registered; Get their card and Vote wisely come April.
