Love is all that matters
Love is the singular most important thing missing in our world today. Many people have narrowed love down to be something that only exists between a man and a woman.
Love is a nature of God and in so far as we were created in the image and likeness of God; His (love) nature exists in all of us.
Doctrine has made us behave cold toward our fellow humans. Many people are of the opinion that so long as an individual does not belong to their religion, then that one is bond to have cruel intentions towards them.
Is that what religion teaches us? Seriously does being religious make one a better person? Ideally, religion is supposed to help mold us in becoming better persons. Ironically, today’s religion is a shadow of what true religion ought to be.
Religion has become one of the world’s major problems. Instead of molding us to become better person(s) in order for us to build for ourselves a better society, religion is tearing us apart.
Though every religion teaches about the value of a human life, we still have people today who are willing to take the lives of others for the sake of the same religion.
Religion is a thing of peace so how come we have stuffs like “religious violence”? Unfortunately everywhere in the world, religion has become a major course of conflict. These conflicts has taken thousands (if not millions) of human lives and caused a great pain on our planet for years.
The truth is, no man can fight for God. More so, God never asked any of us to fight for Him. Did he?
I’m not saying being religious is wrong… no! I’m only saying the manner in which we practice religion is not the best. No wonder why it’s said that “true religion lies in the hearth”.
No matter what religion one belongs; when it’s comes to belief, each group has its own belief of what is right and what is wrong, what is true and what is false that is why in as much as we try to avoid conflict, we still somehow fight.
As long as you believe that only your way is right, and somebody else believes his way is right, there is bound to be conflict.
My big question is “can’t we be religious and be good human beings as well”? I believe religion and humanity can co-exist and love is the only agent that can bring this about.
Love is one big agent of change. Love is one thing that transcends race, tribe or colour. With love in our hearts we will not want to hurt another let alone take their lives.
Love can curb the fighting’s, kidnappings, killings, wars, terrorism, bombings and all other ugly incidents’ that plague our world today. Love can heal our world.
It doesn’t matter if you are a Greek or a Jew, or a Christian or a Moslem. Love is all that matters and it is in all of us.
Love is more important than anything else. It is what ties everything completely together.
I don’t know if you share in my thought but I believe that this world can become a better place for all if we begin to love each other as ourselves.
